Chef Adriene studied at The International Hotel School in Sandton where she did her Diploma in Christina Martins Culinary Arts. She completed her training at O.R. Tambo Intercontinental, Discovery Health, Bells Patisserie and The Victorian Secret Cafe and Patisserie.
After her studies, Adriene worked as a Junior Sous Chef at Fireblade Aviation where she formed part of a fine dining team. After leaving Fireblade to further her studies in Communication Design, with the dream of foodie magazines and recipes books in mind, she worked at The Victorian Secret part time and started a private function business that specialises in multiple course fine dining with wine pairing called Big Red Catering. She is currently completing her Communication Design Degree at Open Window and has partnered up with Sandor, Tanika and Colte to start a cooking school at their World of Wellness Center in Benoni.
The school aims at celebrating healthy food with fun interactive classes, homegrown recipes made simple to bring the joy back to cooking. Teaching children about the importance of a balanced diet, food hygiene and basic cooking skills. Challenging avid home cooks, teaching domestic workers something new and bringing people together through food.
